Lucy Neatby Designs

Pointsetta Shawl Andean VestLucy Neatby is most highly regarded for her colourful knitting (and colourful hair!), her innovative knitting techniques, and extensive selection of knitting dvds. Lucy also teaches and takes knitters on Adventure Knitting excursions.

Her first lace pattern, the Poinsetta Shawl (on left), was in part inspired by Mary Walker Phillips’ book “Knitting Counterpanes: Traditional Coverlet Patterns for Contemporary Knitters”. Read the full details about The Poinsettia Shawl: the story of its creation.

Another of Lucy’s most intricate works is the Andean Vest (on right). From Lucy the Andean Vest Recipe is “An instruction packet (not a pattern) written due to demand from a few manic hardcore knitters (who refused to leave me in peace!). Contains a color detail sheet, large charts, detail photos of the original, along with the measurement information in order to construct your own vest from first principles. Very challenging!”
